Phantom Update - Podcast Tomorrow

My gosh, I have my will to live back and I am just inspired to do everything that I haven’t been doing for the past three weeks. Like writing.
My illness broke yesterday and I realized that I must have actually been sick since we were on vacation; possibly even before that. I’ve had no interest in doing much of anything – toys that needed reviewing were piling up, I was admittedly lax in my preparation for and execution of our HeroesCon trip, and I have done next to nothing to get ready for the big Needless Things event at Odin’s Cosmic Bookshelf on July 13th.

HeroesCon 2013 - Prologue

Note: This and Episode 4 of the podcast got delayed because I’ve been working a lot and also because I have bronchitis. I’ve felt lousy since we got back from vacation, but haven’t had an opportunity to address it because I had to work four days straight. I went to the doctor on my first day off and got diagnosed, then had one day of rest and now I’m back to work four more twelve hour shifts. I skipped out on Earth Station Who Wednesday night because every time I talk I cough, so I definitely couldn’t record my own podcast. And I really haven’t felt like editing posts, either.
Also, Lil’ Troublemaker has tonsillitis. I’ve been doing my best to try and help out with him and we’ve actually gotten to spend some quality time together. Unfortunately, the asshat doctor we took him to the first time misdiagnosed the little guy with a virus. That means he suffered through a few days with no treatment whatsoever. Mrs. Troublemaker really wants to go and punch that doctor in the face.
So my point is I’ve had concerns other than the site and the podcast.

13 Questions With JC De La Torre of Star Mage

Thanks to my work with the ESO Network I have gotten to know a lot of really cool and interesting people. From Bobby and the Mikes to Dr. Geek to Gary Mitchel and Joe Crowe; my life has definitely been enriched by all of the new connections I’ve made. All of those folks have added a little something to my experiences and outlook and it has been one of the most rewarding times of my life.
Two of the people I have gotten to know a bit are Rita and Jason De la Torre. They host a podcast together – which is just about the sweetest thing I can think of – and are enthusiastic fans and cosplayers. Every time I have been around them they have brought a fun, positive energy to whatever was going on, which is why their podcast – Transmissions From Atlantis – works so well.
Another project they’ve got going on is a comic book called Star Mage. Like many other folks they are utilizing Kickstarter to get the project going. You can check the project out here:
I’m not gonna lie – just the title “Star Mage” gets me excited. How has that not been used before? It’s awesome. Anyway, here’s Jason to tell you all about it:

Movie Review: World War Z by Beth V

You guys might have noticed that I missed a few days last week. That's because I still feel like crap and am exhausted from working too damn much. The doctor just called in a second prescription for this thing that I suspect is actually killing me and I took yesterday off of work. I don't feel like doing anything.
Luckily for me, Beth is back with her review of the controversial movie World War Z. Controversial because it has absolutely nothing to do with the book it is "based on".
